In the Quantum Photonics group led by Prof. Peter Lodahl, I focused on the role of fabrication imperfections in state-of-the-art III–V semiconductor nanostructures for quantum optics.
These structures — photonic-crystal waveguides and photonic crystals embedding quantum-light emitters — are widely used for quantum optics experiments. During this period, I became an expert in micro-photoluminescence under cryogenic conditions, as well as in numerical modeling of nanophotonic structures using plane-wave expansion and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations.
